I thought of tapping the guitar riff on bass and then play the bass line normally. The recording was before I bought some new recording gear so the signal is getting clipped a little bit...

Just something new to try and kind of fun. What do you guys think? Any other songs that might be worth doing as well?

thetapping part seems kind of messy.
i prefer it being played by guitar.

Yeah, seemed pretty sloppy.

Were you tapping each note or hammering on and pulling off?

Super sloppy - but I think if you polished it up it would be really cool.

i think you should get a guitar. that part would sound better on one.

Yeah I know it is sloppy, but it was just for fun. Not to sound better than a guitar or anything, just different.

JC that was awesome. I wish I could be just like you and I wish I was your brother so I could thrive under your wing.

So about that 20% discount on a Custom JC...

I thought it was pretty darned good. Tapping those two rhythms at once probably wasn't particularly easy.

Sounds good, who cares about perfection when its just for fun. Did you tap them both at the same time or play them seperately and sequence them? If they were both at the same time then tighten it up and you have a grade A party piece.

Yeah that was two tracks. There is no way to tap the guitar riff with one hand! Oh yeah and 20% off to everyone with nice things to say. All you other people get nothing!

Top notch recording Jared. Better than the original.

Thought so, I thought you were playing them together at first and was really impressed, then I realised it was 2 tracks and the crushing disappointment set in.

Just play the guitar tab.

Should start on the 16th fret A string, I think. (on bass)

Just wondering, why tap both parts if you aren't playing them together? Why not just play them fingerstyle

It's easier to tap for me I guess. Maybe in time I'll play them both at the same time.

if you could tap both parts and sing it at the same time, then you'd be on to something big

yeh i was gonna say......if your not playing them at the same time why do you have to tap them? If you wanna do em simultaneously in time you'd have to be tapping them both with one hand...is that what you're doing now?

I would do the guitar part with my right hand and the bass part with my left.

I liked it a lot, I thought it went very well together. Sure it could use some clean up, but I'm leaving the thread satisfied. What basses did you use?

Haha you are just saying that to get 20% off your bass.

Used the 4 string Widow on that one.

I can get 20% off!? What praise do I need to give? :naughty:

Oh, and is there any way you could sign on MSN for a second?

I tried that, the guitar part is a total bitch to play with one hand. Needless to say if you can pull that off, I will be very impressed.

Wtf

And play a bass drum and snare with your feet.

I actually saw a local band once where one member played guitar, sang, and played drums with his feet all at once. He had a bass drum and a snare mounted on a stand that he hit with a pedal.

that would seriously make the whole 'one man band' idea a hell of a lot cooler in my books... but using a chapman stick instead would rock hard.

I've messed around with that before, bass/hi hat, bassline left hand, solo right hand, scat the solo. I dont really do it that well, but it sure impresses the ladies.

Imagine:

Play bass drum + snare drum with your feet
Electric guitar with one hand
Electric bass with one hand
Alternate singing and playing a harmonica through a microphone

Then maybe attach an egg shaker or some spoons to your penis and flex the muscle that cuts off your ejaculate (I dont know what it's called).

Then you'd have a pretty sweet one man band I must say

Edit: Maybe play a theremin with your body too.

You should try using something to mute the strings you're not tapping. I think I can hear them in the background

The playing was friggin sweet though.
