Well, my friend wanted me to make a beat he can try to rhyme over. I made a couple of them, but I like this one the best. If you can't tell, it was heavily influenced by A Tribe Called Quest, because they're amazing. The other one I made is much more new-school.

Give me thoughts on the beat, on my tone (Yamaha BB604-->Carvin PB100-->MacBook mic-->Garage Band), or whatever else you think of.

Thanks.

pretty bad actually...your bass is out of time, samples sound like ****.
but if we're sharing beats, i'd like to put my most recent one up

the song's pretty much finished, cept for the singing part at the end, because the source mic we used was horrible, so no amount of eq, compression, gating, and reverb could help me there,
we need to record that again.

mind you, it's in hebrew so don't attempt to understand any of the lyrics:

I'll re-record the bass and will be more careful this time. The samples I can't do anything about because it's what Garage Band has...

you could download samples for free from all kinds of places...google "free (insert here) samples" or something
the samples i used in the beat i uploaded were taken out of this program my friend has called techno eJay 4

oh and the snare and crash are from a drumkit from hell pack i got a torrent of
EDIT: also, in the song i uploaded, the bongos/shaker in the beginning are from LM-7

I'll give the free samples a shot. I will also see if I can't find a torrent for some of those really expensive samples.

Sorry my beat sucked :( haha.

I imagined what it would have sounded like if it was in time and I thought it was pretty awesome. Would you mind tabbing this out?

Haha, thanks.

I'm too lazy to tab it but the main line G-G(8ve)-C-D-F repeat that 3 times then the 3 note run at the end of that is A#-A-G.

The middle section is D-A-C-D(8ve)-C-A-G and C#-G#-B-C#(8ve)-B-G#-F#

The 4 note run after that is G-A-Bb-C

I started on a new beat with samples I downloaded off line and I'm redoing the bass line completely except I'm using the program cause I think it sounds better. I'll post when I'm done.
