# 3.14159
Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a
neighboring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him, but was moved by
Arthur's youthful happiness. So he offered him freedom, as long as he could
answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out
the answer; if, after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to
death.
The question was: What do women really want? Such a question would perplex
even the most knowledgeable man, and, to young Arthur, it seemed an
impossible query.
Well, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch's proposition
to have an answer by year's end. He returned to his kingdom and began to
poll everybody: the princess, the prostitutes, the priests, the wise men,
the court jester.
In all, he spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory
answer. What most people did tell him was to consult the old witch, as only
she would know the answer. The price would be high, since the witch was
famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.
The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no alternative but to talk
to the witch. She agreed to answer his question, but he'd have to accept
her price first: The old witch wanted to marry Gawain, the most noble of
the Knights, Arthur was horrified: she was hunchbacked and awfully hideous,
had only one tooth, smelled like sewage water, often made obscene
noises...etc. He had never run across such a repugnant creature. He refused
to force his friend to marry her and have to endure such a burden.
Gawain, upon learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur. He told him that
nothing was too big a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the
preservation of the Round Table.
Hence, their wedding was proclaimed, and the witch answered Arthur's
question: WHAT A WOMEN REALLY WANTS IS TO BE IN CHARGE OF HER OWN LIFE.
Everyone instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth and that
Arthur's life would be spared. And so it went. The neighboring monarch
spared Arthur's life and granted him total freedom.
What a wedding Gawain and the witch had! Arthur was torn between relief and
anguish. Gawain was proper as always, gentle and courteous. The old witch
put her worst manners on display, and generally made everyone very
uncomfortable.
The wedding night approached: Gawain, steeling himself for a horrific
night, entered the bedroom. What a sight awaited! The most beautiful woman
he'd ever seen lay before him! Gawain was astounded and asked what had
happened.
The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her (when she'd been a
witch), half the time she would be her horrible, deformed self, and the
other half, she would be her beautiful maiden self.
Which would he want her to be during the day, and which during the night?
What a cruel question! Gawain began to think of his predicament: During the
day a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the
privacy of his home, an old spooky witch? Or would he prefer having by day
a hideous witch, but by night a beautiful woman to enjoy many intimate
moments?
What would you do? What Gawain chose follows below, but don't read until
you've made your own choice.
Noble Gawain replied that he would let her choose for herself.
Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time,
because he had respected her and had let her be in charge of her own life.
What is the moral of this story? The moral is that it doesn't matter if
your woman is pretty or ugly, underneath it all, she's still a witch---and
don't you forget it.

I can sort of remember it. I remember the original original LightRaven started, but it was called something like "bass forum spam thread", and people just spammed "." and "1" "2" over and over. Some people just stated there post count as it grew. It was horrible, LightRaven almost got demodded for that I think! haha. Eventually she came up with a better title, and it grew to hundreds of thousands of posts, eating up all the sites bandwidth and destroying the search function, if I remember correctly and then it got deleted which took more then 50% of some peoples post counts. Some people had thousands of posts in that thread. Then they started having the weekly casuals.
I think?

I did mushrooms last night. It was a weird trip, but I didn't really get visuals. Although I didn't get visuals, everything I saw had an aura coming off of it that I could see and I could feel it, not physically, but emotionally. And everything seemed really spacey...
For the first little while, everything that I looked at confused me. It didn't scare me, but I couldn't comprehend what I was seeing. This made me start thinking about being blind. If a blind person suddenly was given sight, would they feel like that? Would they be able to get used to it, or would they want to go to back to what is familiar?
Then I started thinking, what if I went blind? Would I still be able to conjure images in my head? Would I want to, or would I want to forget it all, or would I forget it involuntarily after some time has passed?
I regained my composure and felt like I had to get out of my house, but it turned into a whole internal philosophical discussion about life and death, moving away or staying here, etc., and I was asking myself one question, Am I tied? I don't want to be tied, I answer. When I say tied, I mean tied down to anyone, anything. The thought of being tied made me feel very low, like I wouldn't ever be able to do anything. It got me thinking what I have, nothing...
Coming to that realization put me in a really good mood, but I still had to get out of my house. Again, it comes down to this, I don't want to be tied. This time, however, I was just saying that I don't want to have anything extra on me that I'd wan to ditch for one reason or another, I just wanted to be free without being held back by too much clothing, random things in my pockets, etc.
So I finally went out and it wasn't what I wanted. There were a couple of things that really made me emotional, the moon, for one. It was just so beautiful, hanging there in the sky, I don't know, I can't really find the words right now to describe it...
Anyway, then I bumped into some people I kind of know, and I realized they're retarded. I told them I was on mushrooms and a couple of them started making sounds to trip me out, but to no avail. One of them asked me what it was like, but I couldn't really put it into words. I told him I wasn't really getting visuals, but that everything was still weird. I think I remember saying something like, "I don't know... it's just weird... you know, seeing people..."
So I left them and went back home because it was cold and not as eye-opening outside as I had hoped. Anyway, I went back home and hung out for a while just listening to music. After a few more hours, nothing exciting happened (not worth talking about), it all wore off.
But there were minimal visuals near the beginning. I stuck my hand out in front of my and seemed like it was really far off in the distance. Same thing happened when I looked at the ceiling. Nothing amazing to see, but that's about it in terms of visuals.
It was a pretty interesting trip despite the lack of visuals. I was a little disappointed not to see some cool stuff, but I'll probably do them again at some point. :p

As for salvia, I can't really answer that. It's just a plant and it's completely legal. Different strands of the plant are different strengths when ingested and the weaker ones might not do anything. I'm not sure about all the strands/strengths, but it's all stuff like 10x, 20x, etc. I'm not sure the strength of the stuff I smoked. I'm also not sure about prices, I got it for free.

Now, I was thinking about suicide in a general sense, not actually contemplating it. This is when I was thinking of life and death and if I'm tied. While I did think about my own suicide, I never actually contemplated or considered it, I just thought about it. Kind of interesting...

How's the sexy going?
Here's an example of how I've been pissed off by a friend: I call him up and see if he wants to hang out, he says yes, but he needs to eat dinner first. I don't hear from him for a while so I call his house, no answer. I then call his cell, which is on, but no answer. I wait a while, call his cell, it's turned off. What the ****?

Yeah, about that... :upset:
Long story.
Actually, not really.
She broke up with me about 3 weeks ago, said it wasn't working out. I was bummed out, but decided I cared about her so much that I was going to pursue her. Valentine's Day, I wrote her a long, heartfelt letter and got her an awesome present, and gave it to her, and she told me that later that night it definitely wasn't going to work out. So I persisted and asked why, and she basically said that when she started dating me, she was lost, emotionally, and confused, and just latched on to me as a result, and then realized what she was doing and broke up with me.
Long story short: she used me (intention is irrelevent), discarded me, and broke my heart.
It's been 3 weeks, and I'm nowhere close to being over it.

I *was* happy with her. Extremely. I didn't see it coming, at all. We had gone to a movie two days before that, and we had spent most of that evening together. She just sprung it on me at, like, 12:30am.
It's been rough going. I drugged myself to sleep after the incident on the 14th. Things are slowly getting better, but only because I've cut myself off from seeing her in person.

My mushroom trip last night also had me thinking about suicide. For some reason I kept thinking that time was running out... I don't know in regards to what, but just that it was running out and that was kind of messing with me.
Now, I was thinking about suicide in a general sense, not actually contemplating it. This is when I was thinking of life and death and if I'm tied. While I did think about my own suicide, I never actually contemplated or considered it, I just thought about it. Kind of interesting...
i had a simular experience. i was thinking about death, but in a different way. i pretty much eliminated any ties to the spirtuality of it and looked at it in a purely physical way, then visa versa. it was pretty enlightening.

stay up man. I cant stress this enough. my last girlfriend really screwed me over emotionally for a good while. but one day i woke up and realized that what she had done wasn't my fault [seems to be he same situation for you] and there is no need to beat yourself up over what she did to you. What helped me get over my ex was thinking about all the little things she did that i didn't like/approve of and it helped a lot because you develop a sort of sence of humor about the whole subject and how rediculous is really is.
another thing that helped me out a lot was getting my mind of it. working out, playing bass, and most importantly PURSUING OTHER GIRLS. wether your really interested in them or not doesn't really matter and it also doesn't have to be serious. pursuing abother girl can be as simple as flashing a smile at a good looking girl. It may sound pointless, but it really works man.

Yeah, man. I know... but thanks. :) I am getting over it. It just takes time. The funny thing is that I'm more beat up over this than I was when my 4.5 year girlfriend left me for another guy, back in August. Lawl.
But, yeah. I know that it's not my fault. I'm starting to get over her... but emphasis on starting.
It's just such a huge slap in the face, because I had only been feeling truly 100% for a few weeks before we started dating, and I feel like I'm back to square one again.

DAMN, good show ole chap. is your band Lonesome dub? if so, Rincon del mar is like number 15 on my most played songs on itunes :thumb:
Well, yeah, but that band isn't really a band. We just write songs every once and awhile. Stoked that you like that song though. The band that's playing South by Southwest is my funk/blues rock band. I guess we are playing with Robert Randolph (wOOt), and using their backline gear. I don't think we are officially on the roster though, because we aren't signed by EMI.

Does anyone here have really bad bass days, even if you normally are a good player? My playing has never fell under a certain level over the course of the last 2-3 years, but recently and specifically today I've just been playing like sh*t. It's like I've lost my inspiration and a lot of my coordination. I hope it isn't permenent.

Robert Randolph and his Family Band are this badass gospel/rock/funk/soul act, and Randolph is an absolute beast on the pedal steel. They've gotten pretty popular lately. I actually don't listen to them, I'm just familiar with them, and I know they are a big deal.
Unfortunately, no. We've just done that one song. We are almost done with another one (we only write them for this music/art compilation thing our college sponsors), so I'll post that when it's done. I'm surprised that Rincon del mar was so well received, because we spent about 20 minutes writing it, and I improved the bassline every time I played it. But yeah, my Stingray through a vintage SVT did make for a very nice tone.
Do you have that reggae stuff from my other reggae band, Rugged Bleary/Kubensis?
