Hey guys. Haven't had my own thread in a while.
I traded my POD for this sweet Flametop MIM Jazz bass over at TalkBass.

I'll post up a family pic later. Some might remember that I owned an Ash MIM Jazz before that I was NOT keen on. This one's totally different. Excellent fit and finish, much better fretwork, and a killer setup that survived a trip from Florida to the snowy, cold UP of Michigan!

I drooled at that for about an hour one day, getting ready to offer up something for it, but obviously I didn't. his pictures make yours look like ***, that's a BEAUTIFUL bass.

Yeah, his pics weren't that great, but this thing is gorgeous. I was actually suprised when he took the trade on the POD, I didn't thing anyone wanted one. All I need are some Dunlop straplock buttons and maybe some shielding work. I'll be gigging this one with my jazz band next month.

If you get jealous here never ever visit Talkbass.
Also nice bass, you seemed to have got the better end of the trade.

It looks like a Squire. Is it a Squire? Squire.
Nice looking bass! If only the f/b was maple...

Yup, genuine Fender. My photography skills lack, but hopefully my girlfriend will gets some pics of me playing it in some more natural light.

I e-mailed Fender to find out more about it. I do recall seeing it on MusiciansFriend last year, but I figured I'd go to the source and find out all I can about it.

Fender responded yesterday saying the FMT MIM Jazz was available from 2002-2006, in cherry or tobaco sunburst. Mine dates to 2005-2006 according to the serial number. The stats the rep sent me states it as having "2 "New" Standard Jazz Bass Single Coils (Mid & Bridge)"... I dunno if this means it has the new pickups that were redesigned for the 2006 and up models of the MIM line or what, but the bass is way better than the FSR Ash Jazz I had before.

Is that a Darryl Jones Lakland? Not keen on the knobs (at all), but the rest is killer. If there wasn't a pool route under my pickguard, I'd be considering a plexi guard myself.

Joe Osbourn actually. The knobs are aftermarket... Though I might drop an Audere in there... (funny since the first owner had an Audere in there and didn;t use it so took it out and sold it).
That is one damn nice looking bass.

Eww, take the pick guard off. Clear pick guards look so bad.
