I've been looking into getting a Rogue LX406 Pro 6-string bass from Musician's Friend. Does anyone own this bass or other Rogue basses, and if so could you give me your opinion on them?? I tried my friend's Rogue bass amp before, and I really didn't like it, but I've seen good reviews about their basses and I was wondering how good they are. Thanks, Jake

Also, if anyone has any experience with Douglas basses from Rondo Music, please give me your opinion on those too. Thanks

I bought my kid a rogue bass for christmas one year. Please stay away from them, they're plywood, the knobs are plastic, and the tuners don't stay in tune.

ive heard nothing but bad about the douglas basses at rondo music, the brice ones are ok for the money and you could consider those for a cheap six string, but dont get the douglas or the rogue. the reviews on musiciansfriend are fakes. either that or by 10 year olds who have had the bass for a week or something. If youre looking for a cheap six string, I would consider trying to find one used. Save up a little more, you could find a good used 6 string for 300-400 bucks if you look hard enough.

I would opt for a Fender squire, jazz or p bass, over the Rogue, it may cost a bit more, but it will give you alot more then a Rogue can.

If you guys had to pick one or the other, would you say Rogue or Douglas???

I don't need an amazing bass, just something to play around with, since I'm mostly a guitarist/drummer.

Everytime you buy a Rogue Jaco sodomizes Wooten. Seriously.

For the price, I don't know of a better 6 string bass, brand spanking new, that's as good as a Brice.

Get a Peavey Grind NTB 6 they are lovely, the only complaint on mine is the soldering is a little week and it aint the most versatile sound but man is it lovely for the price!

Yeah Rogue's are made with the disembodied souls of little Vietnamese children. If you want to buy a Rogue go ahead, but they say that when you play it, you can hear them screaming.

fixed

Anyways, Rogue Basses, as you can tell by now probably have a pretty bad rep. My friend has a Rogue and besides the fact that it's falling apart, (The imput jack and strap pegs fell off while jamming) I think it has horrible tone.
Also as stated above, try looking into Higher-End squiers and lower end Fenders. IMO some squiers have gotten a helluva lot better and they would last longer then the Rogue. Plus their around the same price range.
