Well, I was bored waiting for practice so I went to a hill with a teammate. The snow is covered with about and inch or 2 of ice so you could slide down it on your feet. Well I got down fine, but when I get to the bottom, my foot breaks through and I fall, my bare hand going through the ice. And I found out today, that ice is sharp.

When I first did this, both of them were wide open and bleeding like crazy, but and hour of having sweat pour into it stopped the bleeding real good. now the right most cut is right where my stick hits. It's gonna suck putting together that solo now. There is another on the left, very small, but falls right where i hold my hackey stick and makes that hell too.
So, Discuss injuries that made drumming a living hell.

damn dude that sucks.
I once lost 1/2-3/4 of my nail on my thumb when my hihat stand fell down and the memory lock caught my thumb. That thing bled for a good 2-3 hours. I found the nail in my stick holder. Barf.

the worst for me would be 2 yrs ago where i dislocated my last 2 fingers on my left hand during a waterpolo game. i was the goalkeeper and i happened to rise a bit too late to stop a 4m shot. for some reason my left hand was pointing slightly front as the ball hit...
well it did deflect the ball out and i did save it, but all i felt at that point in time was really just pure pain. everything turned white and i was underwater screaming and making a lot of wierd noises.
i swore in 4-5 different languages and dialects when my they straightened my fingers out in the hospital after that.
ouch ++, no drumming for a month, pain for the next month. haha

I was just about to say that. With the scissors in the back, makes it look suss. Anyways that must suck to get injury like that. I hope you can still play.
My drum related injury is one time when I was playing, I cut the back of my hand on my hats. Nasty cut.

Try snapping your left ankle playing rugby then not being able to use the hi hat atall!

that dosent look that bad GM
I once stabbed hand with a screwdriver when me and my dad were playing around with the corvette. It hurt really bad because toughed touched bone.
I took countless drumsticks to the face and and getting knuckle to the rim's.. Not lately though, since my technique got way better

I've not had any serious injuries. But everyweek I play with cut hands, sometimes its really bad and they split and bleed. (Cos I work with glass and I dont always wear the gloves). But I've got used to that now. Also I once pulled a muscle in my "bass drum" leg. That fu*king hurt!

Meh, that doesnt matter really, it only stops you lifting the hats, cos you can play with them open and use a rim for closed. :)

someone doesn't do much biking ;)
When you slow down hard on a front suspension bike, all the pressure goes onto the front wheel, and when you hit the gravel, even if you turn the slightest, your front tyre will go unless you have on beefy ****er, and i mean beefy, as in, about 2.5" or something.
Trust me, i've found this out on drains, gravel, wood (never, ever, brake on a wooden bridge which goes over a steam and has no hand rails) and a lot of other surfaces.
then again, my tyres are pretty useless.

^ well, yeah, that's what I was saying. It's just like driving in a car or riding a motorcycle, considerably harder to handle on loose surfaces.

Yuh.
I'd of sped up or kept my speed constant if i was going to go on gravel, and then slow down gradually to a nice controllable speed. There's a lot more to biking well than you would think.
The worse thing to hit at speed is a cattle grid though. If you don't get thrown off your bike, you'll sure has hell need to rest for a a few mins, and check your frame over afterwards.
For those of you who don't know what a cattle grid is, it is a set of steel bars layed out on a small section of road. The idea is that if cattle walk on it, they'll get stuck. but cars can go over it:

Yeah, not to terrible, I was really just complaining about the placement of it, because they fall right where I do everything.
This isn't near my worst injury. I couldn't tell you the worst. I've cracked my head open on a rock b4. Accidentally stabbed myself in the leg. Ripped my knuckels off to the bone on lugs, and once on a door(don't ask), and have closed my legs in the door of a truck getting out of it(again, don't ask). oh, and a car related one, I ripped open my thumb on the spindel of my dads truck while changing the brake pads
The Scissors I had forgotten to but away from a gay project for school.

Oh car storys eh? I got a few
When I was about 14, my aunt or some family member tryed to close the door for me and 4 fingers got cought.. It sucked because my nails just got really black and blue and the nail didn't fall off for a week
I think 2 years ago I stuck my head out the window and my sister was closing it and my head was traped and I was choking...Worst 10 seconds of my life. I had like a giant strip cut on my neck.
I also took some mean spills on my bike because I liked doing that flat land stuff. Worst one was I got my leg cought inbetween the frame and fell, the rest of my body went a totally different direction. haha
then I gave up on that stuff because I started driving a car, and got to big for those bmx bikes

nice. I've been to big for most bikes except for like those giant wheeled bikes so I really don't have that problem any more. Though, last weekend playing hockey, I went down, and the went to move, but my leg didn't move with my body, and I feel my knee pop about 8 times, followed by some pretty intense pain. the same thing happened the next time I went down too, except only popped twice

lolz i rode a damned scooter down a very steep hill without shoes on. When i tried to brake my feet started to burn. So, like a dumbass, i tried to step off the scotter. I dont know exactly how fast i was going, but i flipped a good 3-4 times and rolled about 30 feet down the hill.
Twisted an arm, ankle, got a black eye, numerous scrapes, and bit my tounge REALLY hard. Good thing none of my tounge came off loolz
Moral of the story-Dont try to step out of moving vehicles

I fell off a treadmill once. My friend cranked up the speed really fast and I had already ran atleast 2 miles, so I was tired and couldn't exacly keep up and just fell down and it shot me out.
Ouch.

Were no handrails? Or stationary platforms on the sides? You shouldn't ever get hurt on a treadmill.
