Well almost. I thought I might as well share the good news(bad news for my bank account).

Today I put down a deposit on Will Calhoun's Mapex Saturn in Lazer Canary. It was the kit which he used while doing his clinic here in New Zealand a few months ago.

ATM I have purchased the 5 piece Jazz setup and will later on be buying the 16' floor tom... and if im REALLLY that desperate or tempted.. I will buy the 18' bass.

So yes I will be second person in the whole of NZ who has played on that particular kit... Once I pay off the rest of the Lay-By.

It was between the Saturn and a Superstar... and the choice was obvious.

Saturn was going for 2499...(2999 with the 16" floor tom) and the superstar for 2000... NZ prices...... I think I got a AWESOME deal and I cant wait to get the kit!

Actual pics when i get the kit in about 3 months time!.. hopefully sooner!

Thanks :P... They were exactly the sizes I wanted 20x18, 10x8 12x9 and 14x14....and a 14x5.5 snare...! No brainer really. Kit didnt sound to good but resonated well.. due to it having stock skins.(which were what Will used on the clinic) but the guys at the shop chucked in a new set of batters for all the drums bar the bass drum. I Opted for Coated Emperors and CS blackdot for the snare.

Beautiful - Saturn's are great. The guy I bought my Orion off was selling ti to buy a Saturn (he wanted a smaller kit and loved the Saturn sound)

haha yes that is/was me. I only sold my rack and drums w/hardware. So my cymbals and IC are still with me.. However the IC's lagginess is really getting to me. Im selling it to buy a Eliminator.

Truth be told.. I dont deserve the kit. Im no where near that level to be owning such a nice kit.. But I didnt want to go backwards in terms of kit quality/specs and this was a great deal I could not pass off... Most likely gonna be the last kit i'll be buying in a LONG time!

Thanks for the compliments.. and Pics will come when the kit is in my room!
