I love rhythm. It's the fundamental element of music. I also love math. Math is full of patterns. The two are so intertwined sometimes they can't be separated.

Anyway. Here's some fun for you guys. Here is my favorite beat. This is in 4/4 time sig.

That's all fine and dandy. But now, we whip it into some math mumbo jumbo, and flip it up into a new triplet feel. Same groove, same tempo, this time in 12/8.

I don't know why i love 12/8. But i know that I absolutely love that triplet feel.

So anyway, enjoy guys.

oh, here's some more fun in 12/8 with the same groove and another. (mind the gap.)

And you know how fast a 78979475289730485th note is?

Pretty awesome grooves there, chippy.

as fast as you would reduce the tempo to make it a playable speed?

7/8 rules my pants.
but 4/4 is what I play 99.999999% of the time.

gonna check these files as soon as I get my hands on a pc with internet connection AND audio (as these days, it seems I have difficulty getting my hands on both at the same time due to moving)

Its only a triplet feel if you quarters to every 3rd eighth

Did you record these? I'm not 100% sure, but the drums could sound electronic.

6/8 is the greatest time signature in all existance (very similar to 12/8, so meh).

Semantics.

Semantics.

Truth.

Your notes create the feel. The time sig is just the most appropriate method of transcribing it.

^ what he said.

the drums are synthed in reason. I work at a studio, not jam at a studio. (just cuz i work there doesn't mean i get free time, you know?)

I like playing a 4/4 groove in a grouping of 3 5/4 bars and a 1/4 bar.

Pretty much, 4/4 :D
