schweeeet! Like both clips...shows thet ability to groove straight ahead funk while staying out of the way, and pulling out the ridiculous when called for!

Oh my god Vinnie + Chameleon?

100% awesome. Vinnie was technical, but still managed to keep it funky.

Ewww...synth brasses. :( I can't stand 'em used that way. Honestly, the playing was great from a technical perspective, but musically? It was boring as hell. Congratulations, Herbie, for being a part of everything that is wrong with fusion today.

Need to get some real trumpets in there. Can't stand the synth stealing the job.

Did anyone else see one of the shows from this tour live? I went to the one at The Sage, and it was much better than this video. The guitarist was fantastic too, though everyone in the audience was yelling out to Vinnie, even though it's the Herbie Hancock quartet...

I think this project was called "International Soup".

I agree that the synth brasses are super-cheese. I do think Vinnie has an interesting take on the material. He is my favorite drummer, but I do agree Herbie's music might be more at home with someone like Mike Clark or Harvey Mason. Vinnie just comes from another place. But I would have to see/hear more before making any real judgements.
