always ringing and making noise..when I hit a tom or a floor tom they ring away like theres no tommorrow.
I have a clear Remo Ambassador (sp) for the resonant head.
Any recomendations to make this stop or is it inevitable?

Adjust tension/retune snares and toms to lower to vibration.

You won't get rid of it, but you can make it not annoying.

Simply tune the reso head to a looser/tighter setting that the toms.
I did this and I have NO buzz, only from guitar at times. It isn't enough to be annoying.

well you probably tightened the snares so tight they're choking the drum. not a good idea.

You can get rid of the buzz by slightly detuning the tension rods right around the snares themselves (and can compensate slightly be tightening the others).

I haven't tried it as I really don't mind the buzz, but I've heard of it working. What I do know works is putting a small object (card, paper, I dunno) between the wires and the reso head.

I eliminated the problem by tuning my snare higher than my toms, that seems to be the only real way to do it, without adding cards and what not.

I read about this guy on Drummerworld that made a version of the Puresound wires and said it worked out pretty good. Here's a cut and paste:

C&P from DrummerWorld Thread:

#1: Buzzing Snare Strainer:

After i saw a few pictures of those 'puresound' snare strainers which cost an arm and a leg, i turned my eyes to the stock strainer that came with my gretsch snare, which i had recently replaced with a bell bronze tama strainer.

I grabbed a pair of clippers and clipped out the middle 6, pulling them out with enough force to break form the solder that they are held in with. Making sure there were no spiky bits left to pierce the head with, i then sanded it down with a steel headed dremel bit.

Sound: Fantastic! Stops all unwanted sympathetic vibrations and i now carry it around in my stick bag to sue on troublesome house kits.
