Anyone subscribe to any, or pick up every month or so?

Alternative Press sucks

I like Razorcake, but is that just a webzine or do they have it in print too?

What is out there? It's been a minute since I was in the whole zine scene

I didn't mean to make that rhyme

Occasionally I pick up a Last Hours or, when it comes out, Punker Mentality (only so Jas doesn't think everyone hates her =p).

They're all bad. Alternative Press actually doesn't suck, they have at least one worthwhile article every month, which is about the same consistency as Maximum Rocknroll.

I like zines.

Album review:

I've seen these guys live a bunch of times and they always rock. This album is angry and has great lyrics. If you like x obscure hardcore band you should check them out!

People who like independent music usually cant write for ****. From Pitchfork to AP to your backyard zine, it's like they think writing for a publication should be no different from writing on the internet.

The internet has made them obsolete.

I'm guilty of pulling that one a few times, but I try to actually review the album, instead of just promoting it, but i get lazy sometimes, hahaha.

Hay, they "presented: Not So Quiet On The Western Front" -- which i've been digging since the day I bought it. I can't hate on them!

Haha, that's pretty much exact. Nobody actually talks about the songs, lyrics, melodies, meanings, etc. It's just "This album kicks *** because this band kicks *** and they sound like this other band everyone likes, so PICK IT UP!"

Like I said, I am guilty of having done this, but I have any writings like that classified as Promo on the site. The few reviews I've actually done do talk about the music.

see for yourself.
