Check out this awesome 7/8 drum feature I have towards the ending of this song. After playing for nearly 10 years I've finally been able to start pulling this type of stuff off.

I used a Pacific kit with EC2 drum heads and recorded with 13 mics.

Let me know what you think of the overall tone and my playing. I consider myself to be a bit of a jazz drummer at heart, even though we mainly do hardcore/metal stuff.

Sounds like Tool mixed with Incubus. That riff is cool but it was starting to get repetitive.

The drumming? I digged it.

Thanks for checking it out. I'm not trying to be the best- just the favorite, though I'm still open to tips.

There are a few more songs on our myspace (best drumming is probably in "Take What You Need") - http://www.myspace.com/leftbrainmusic

What school is UNM?

Sounds like you guys know what you're doing. I'll give it a more thorough listen later when I have time.

ED: I thought the music was pretty good, however the recording quality fell far below my expectations, considering how professional your CD art and myspace looks, namely on The Cleansing. Arisen was much, much more impressive, though overall I thought vocals should come forward more, and guitars needed to be pulled back. Don't get me wrong, it all sounds pretty good, it just doesn't have that polished, professional sound the whole way through, in regards to performance as well as mixing (though a better mix would have made a huge difference, IMO). Every now and then, you see that professional shine for a moment, and catch a quick glimpse of it (and it sounds great!), but just like that, it's gone.

UNM is the university of new mexico. this is my bass player's account and I was just logging on.

Thanks for checking it out man. i've heard from a few other people that the vocals were pushed too far back and the guitars were a little too thick. basically we didnt want it to sound like screaming in your face, but we probably should have taken the time to bring out certain parts at certain times. if we ever sell the CD's we've got, i'd remaster a little.
