hey man you posted a video of antonio that took forever to download like last week but it didnt work and i forget to tell you

but i found this video of horatio that illustrates why he is THE MAN when it comes to latin/jazz stuff

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8J-wz6WlSWc

he has a very expansive rhythmic vocabulary and wayyyy better feel than anyone ive ever heard with the left foot clave

he sounds so authentic and clean and musical

antonio is just a little too immature yet, but he gets better every time i check him out... just needs more time probably

HORATIO IS THE ****ING MAN

Cool stuff...pretty nutty. Yeah, El Negro is great, but I still like Antonio better. It didn't work? Argh...what didn't work about it? Did it not download, or were you having trouble playing it?

Yeah, that he is. His emotional range is ridiculous...can go from anything from the most heart wrenching agony to soaring euphoria. Plus, I'm really into the whole "Symphonic Poem" sort of approach him and Liszt were big on.

Sounds like maybe you need to update your codecs? It plays fine for me on Windows media player.

I saw Antonio Sanchez like 3 weeks ago when he gave a clinic at some local high school... it was amazing. He played two Pat songs (you can tell he beefed up the parts for the drum clinic) and a solo. Real good playing and def. on my top 20 list. PLus i won some free **** at his clinic.

Its safe to say his Pats best drummer so far, even though I enjoyed Wertico's simplicity and parts too. Who was Pats first drummer I forgot? I just remeber its some black dude that was in MD magazine not to long ago.

Horacio playing is magnificent, he has the latin feel down lock. I also remember my drum teacher showing me that vid like 6 years ago.
Check out Phil Maturano playing too if you guys get a chance too, his clinics are really unique.

Wertico's an awesome guy. I caught a little bit of his clinic at jazzfest this year (I was late...planned to hear the whole thing), and he seemed to really know his stuff and was explaining it well.

I agree, although someone in the comments section refered to those as 'cardboard boxes'.
