So now I have some extra cashflow.

So my dad showed me this friends house today. One of those dudes that collects rare and vintage drums but doesn't really play much. Whatever, to each his own. Well I really loved the sound of his vistalite kit with concert toms. And that's that really natural boomy sound I'd like when I get cash for recording gear (and of course I liked their live sound)

But here's the thing: I've heard recorded acrylic drums only once before I believe, and it was The Brown Album by Primus. And I remember reading that they left the drums to their really natural sound, which I dig and is my desirerd future recorded sound.

I've only recorded my drums once and it was only for a short time, and the other time I had them done pro. So I don't have much recording experience which is why I'm asking you guys: I like the sound of them, but would they really sound good recorded with your average workhorse mics and equipment? And would the concrt toms sound way different recorded than the regular 2-headed acrylic toms?

Just thinking ahead a little bit, so I can start looking at Craigslist and Ebay and all that.

Oh yeah and I know there's a whole bunch of little differences in series' and badges and thing with ludwig drums, is there a specific type that was superior?

Can't believe I typed that.

I wish someone would buy my **** on Craigslist. I'm trying to sell an Eliminator double, 2 DW toms, a DDrum snare trigger, Z Custom Crash, etc. Ugh. First time using it. Slower getting responses than I expected.

You might have better luck putting the toms on ebay, just because the likeliness of someone wanting just 2 dw toms in the boston area is smaller. And hey I actually think Z customs have their place even though I may get crucified for saying that... I guess they just break easily

How much for the elm?

And concert toms are decent for recording. easier mic placement, but i love the tone of a normal tom more.

ebay them... I put up my cymbals on ebay and they are getting bites all over the place. Someone contacted me and even offered to pay above my reserve price if I would cancel and sell it to them with a local pickup.

I've just never done eBay selling. I'll think about it.

As for the eliminator. I think I was doing 200 or the highest bid. So if someone bid at least say 160 I would have probably gone through with it.

Whats the price size and model on the Z Custom? Also is it "Zed" or "Zee" Custom?

18" Z Custom Rock Crash from 2002. Same thing they're making now. The price is anywhere between $138 and $158.
