Ok, some of you may remember i posted a couple of days ago (you know that 'my first gig ' thread). But anyway, here's what happened with my night. My band and i turned up to the hall where we were going to be playing, and the doors are locked, and there is this massive barbed wire fence around it, and that was locked too. We waited about 45 minutes, until the owner came, and opened up the place. We then backed our cars up to the front door to unload our gear, and the owner lady says to us "hang on, i was told this was a booking for a choir, not some massive party." As it turns out, the guy who organised it, has the IQ of a brick, and didnt organise any public liability insurance or anything (just incase somebody gets killed). And the owner just said it wasnt going to go on. And there was about 150-200 people expected to turn up. So we just threw our gear back in, and bailed out. And the guy who was organising it had organised 5 cartons of beer (for you non-australians, its basically four six-packs of beer in a box) but luckily for us, he had left them outside the hall (yes, he is that unintelligent) so when we leaving, we just took all of them with us!! We ended up going to some house party after we left all our instruments and gear back at my friends place. So a bunch of 17 and 18 year olds, and about 120 bottles of beer between about 7 of us = a good night. Most of the crowd who were going to watch us play at this hall went to this party, and it was pretty insane. Worst thing that happened was that i saw my girlfriend kissing one of my best friends. So as you can imagine, i was not too impressed! But, thats my night.

^^^ yup, that would have been awsome. Neighbours might not like it though!

And also, don't try and use that place for gigs ever again!

Cool. Nice to hear that you still had a good time. :thumb: I would have played at the party. It would have been cool as. I wouldn't have worried too much about the neighbours because of the heavy rain. Heavy rain = one of nature's sound proofing for you and neighbours.

Sucks to hear about your gf.
