I've just played through the first two again recently, now I am partway through Dixie Kong's Double Trouble :)
I find the series really fun, nostalgic at that as i remember countless hours playing them when i was young. The gameplay is addictive, and the graphics are unique. I love the music as well.
Diddy's Kong Quest is probably still my favourite all up. They are all atmospheric for silly games about monkeys :p

I'm waiting for them to release DKC on Virtual Console. I dont' want to spend $25 on the GBA game.

i always got bored to tears about half way through each of these games. It just got stale after a while
I do like riding on the animals, but it was pretty few and far between, unless you cheated like i did, and kept replaying those levels where you get the medallions

Sup with the characters switching, they are secondary in one game then the lead in the next

The first and second in the series were awesome. I remember that one level were you had to use the snake to jump up and away from green lava. Good times :)
I used to own the third game in the series but I took it back because I didn't like it that much.

I hated when those wasps would come out of freakin' nowhere and kill me.
Little bastards.
I never owned a SNES, but my neighbours did and DKC would always be the game of choice. Classic game with marvellous graphics.

I rented DKC once or twice. My neighbors got a Super Nintendo with that game like 8 years after we got ours.
Good platformer, pretty fun.

I'm the same way. I needed more action faster then that game provided.

And they have yet to release a playable game. PDZ was passable but it could have been much better. I hear that viva pinata game is actually fun for a bit so who knows.

I just finished DKC 3, i remember it used to be so hard! I breezed through it.
I couldn't be stuffed completing it 103% again though, i did all that years back. Giant banana bird hehe.
I loved the innovative map with the vehicles in particular about this one.

I love how I can't remember long division or the anatomy of a plant cell, but have no problem reciting nintendo codes from my childhood.

It's a shame that there hasn't been a worthwhile Donkey Kong game since the SNES. Donkey Kong 64 was a disaster and that Konga game is whack.

Kongas good for a few larfs. And i actually enjoyed the hell out of 64, probably not as much as Donkey Kong country but it was heir-apparent to Banjo-Kazooie which was a plus. Multiplayer absolutely sucked *** though.
