So, when I enter into college next year, I'm going to need my own stuff to do on my own because I won't have anyone else to play with. I'm gonna start purchasing peices to my recording setup here soon, but really don't know exactly what to look for. I want some stuff I can use and acheive some decent recordings with, and can be great for multi-tracking. What I had in mind was the following so far -

http://www.music123.com/Boss-DR670-Dr.-Rhythm-Drum-Machine-i20916.music

Mostly guitar, but I would definatly like to do some arranging with some vocals, and a drum machine seems to be the most logical choice. Is that a good way to spend my money? Any suggestions, as I am new to this?

Thanks guys

You know... if you're getting or already have a computer for college next year, I would reccomend basing a recording setup off of that. It would allow you to get much as freeware, drums being a large part of that.

Yeah, I would go the multitrack recording software route myself. You can get software for fairly cheap, and then you can spend your $$ on an outboard sound card, like one of the Firewire boxes from M-Audio. the overall solution might be about the same price as what you're looking at, but more flexible: a Firewire box would work on any computer, and you can use it with lots of different software.
