I know you can do this... but i don't know who makes these non digi interfaces... i'm sure they're cheaper and i wouldn't mind having one since our digi002 is in our jam room, and i do most of our editing/mixing/mastering at my apartment

anyone know where to find what i'm talking about?

M-Audio makes devices that are compatible with Pro Tools M-Powered. M-Audio is owned by Digidesign.

It is actually less expensive, but marginally so. You still need to purchase the Pro Tools software (M-Powered) seperately, making it more expensive than other solutions.

No. M-Audio devices only work with Pro Tools M-Powered. It is a seperate version from LE, so you would need to purchase the additional software.

However, once the investment is made, you can freely move sessions between the two systems (assuming they're both compatible with PT7, which they should be if you purchase new).

so it's basically the same price if not more than even pro tools... there are a couple of packages that are less but it's not by very much

mpowered pro tools costs quite a bit more than i expected it to...

i was hoping on you saying something like "oh there are a few tascam and presonus interfaces that work with it" but that's just me dreaming :\
