It was a game I rented a few times in the early 90s, I remember I liked it alot. Of course, I don't remember the title of it or a lot of the details because I was like 6 - 7 years old, but this is what I do remember.

The main character's name is Jerry, and he's some sort of blue blob (turned into the blob by the bad guy). The game was a 2D platformer. I think one of the tasks in each level is to collect the 5 letters of your name and it gave you like a life or something. And also, the game probably came out before 1994.

Basically, I want to know what this game is so I can either find it on ebay or get it on VC whenever it comes out for that.

Damn.. I played that, it's on the tip of my tongue. Hopefully it'll come to me.

*should be a SNES game

not if you use the acronym, because the s sound begins with a vowel.

Anyway, I'll start searching google, but I don't know if that'll do me any good.

EDIT: arg the only thing I can seem to find is the game Tom & Jerry, which is another game I rented back in the day (which was pretty fun)

Its called Smartball. A guy on another forum I visited found it.

Just exactly how I remember it, after all these years. I even remember the music a tad bit!

I'm pretty sure it should be "a" SNES game.

Glad you found it though, there are a host of games I liked when I was little on the NES that I'll probably never play again.

Yeah, it should be 'a' SNES game :) Since I grew up on the nineties, I miss a ton of N64 games I used to have.

Never sell games, its the worst decision people make.

It's true, you always end up missing them loads. :(

Even if they sucked the first time around something might draw you back to it.

I was so sad the day I realised my NES wasn't turning on, and never would again.

A Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

An es-en-ee-es.

Dropper pretty much cleared that.

Except that people don't go around saying "I'm going to go play my Es En Ee Es now, it's wicked fun". People commonly say SNES as a word, even though its an acronym, like how people say NASA instead of En Ay Es Ay. People commonly say NES as a word too, I've never heard a kid say "the best En Ee Es game ever was Strider, triangle jumps are badass."

Sounding out the letter S gives you "es" which begins with a vowel sound. When you say the word "SNES", however, it doesn't begin with a vowel sound, it begins with the sibilant S sound you find in words like snake and snowball, you don't say "Look out! An snake!" nor do you say "Ouch! Someone threw an snowball at my testicles!".

completely the opposite for me. I have never heard anyone say Nes or Snes as one word, always by the acronym or by, well, Super Nintendo and Nintendo.

How very strange. Perhaps its a regional thing? Or it may depend on the group of kids involved.

Either way, "an" or "a" can both be correct, but only if paired with its corresponding way of saying SNES.

Stuff like this should be in english classes. Imagine the heated discussion in the classroom .

Same with me. I and everyone I've ever come into contact with say either Es En Ee Es or just call it Nintendo.

In that case it's 'an SNES game.'

This is spinning me out, I've never even imagined anyone saying Es En Ee Es.

Such a diverse world.
