I couldn't find a section that seemed to fit better...

Last night I went out to my local Best Buy and finally got a new computer.

It's a HP Pavillion a1610n computer
Processer: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ ("true multitasking")
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE (not important)
Memory 1GB (has room to expand to 4GB)
Hard Drive: 250 GB

It also has a dvd/cd writer/burner with lightscribe

I'm looking for a program that has great loops so i can produce to rap/hip-hop tracks for a rapper looking to do an album. Its my way to make a little cash on the side. He offered to pay me $300 to do it, so i want to do it right.

What programs do you suggest? (i perfer a program i can download for free but i dont mind spending some cash if neccessary)
btw...if the program is free but has limitations if you dont buy it...then i'd rather buy it.

I use to use leafdrums but i haven't had success for hip-hop and rap because of the needed synth's etc. leafdrums has only drum beats...so yeah. sorry im rambling.

I was thinking of using Kristal to record on
MAGIX studio to clean up the tracks a little better.

But i need a program to make his beats/tracks.

Any suggestions

P.S. I left the info about my computer so you'll know ahead of time if the program you recommend will work nicely with my set up.

Thank you all in advance for the help, its much appreciated.

you're going to need an interface, preamp and mic though

I'd just download Ableton Live, and a good set of samples.

Hey. This is the right place....

I suggest

Cubase. Its a really good midi program. And you can get all sorts of plugin's. Do you play any instruments? Id also get a midi controller.

Also Acid is good for looping and things like that.

Fruity Loops Studio is great for just about anything. There's TONS of included sounds already...You can make anything from techno to Jazz, to whatever. It's not a free program (and costs quite a bit if I remember) BUT...if you email me or add me on MSN I can "help you out".

Fruity Loops has many different versions, and all except the most feature-rich versions are very reasonable ($100 or less).

Oh I didn't realize they can be that cheap. Cool.
I have Fruity Loops 5 Producer Edition, it seems to have plenty of features for me :)
