He plays drums. That means that he likes anything with good drums regardless of how the rest of it sounds. Start from there.

Something with a good tempo? What do you mean by this? What constitutes a "good" tempo?

Give us something to grasp hold of. Asking for music with good tempo is like asking for your hot dog with a bun, it's a given.

i prefer my music with bad tempo

That's true. Music with a bad tempo is bad music. You don't play ballads at 180 or death metal at 50.

Maybe try some Tool, Dream Theater and Rush. The drummers are amazing in all three bands...but Im sure you knew that if you were from the drum forum.

Judas Priest's Painkiller album has great drumming as well.

@RNR...since when was breaking the law hair metal?

Wait...you want music but the only criterion you're giving is that it's at a specific TEMPO?

Or traditional/hard rock/NWOBHM. I kind of lump them all together.

And just look at Halford at the time. That sways me towards hair/glam.

Maybe his look was more glam...I mean he didnt have much hair at the time of the Breaking the Law video. But then again glam was more spandex and stuff of that nature. He was wearing leather jackets and metal studs. To me that is just a traditional metal look.

Priest's commercial '80s stuff isn't really far removed from early Motley Crue, or something.

No.

/is in denial

Peart is way out of my league.

Use his songs to practice. I use John Petrucci solos as exrercises to imporve my playing. I take a bit that I think I can do and practice it until it is perfect. I keep on doing that until I can player his hardr stuff. By practicing things out of your league, you will quickly jump up to that league. Its kind of corny, but its similar to that saying shoot for the stars.
