View Full Version : Building a bass cab

So me and my dad are plannin to build two bass cabs on the 19th next month (fabuary). a 1x18 and 4x10. Weve got most the designing done, all the dimensions and measurements etc. And now we just left to design the cosmetics of it all. I've decided to have a black vinyl cloth coverin (like on the trace elliot amps) and was thinking of a bright orange grill.. What do you guys think??

Also any pictures of any interesting lookin cabs, custom or not would be much appreciated. Also ANYTHING with a bright orange grill would be cool, so i could see it and use it as an example for the design

My cabs not really custom but i put sustome colouring in it. It might be a good idea for you. I put the grill on later.

BTW the wood is paper. ;)

dude, i love your "orange" cab! that's great! where did you get orange tolex? or tolex in general? i wanna go recover my gear now! lol

I want to know where you get sweet looking grills for cabs like that... like the metal grills, not the cloth ones.

You can get pretty much everything there. I have been thinking about re covering my cab but i think its a lot of work and i dunno how it would even come out.

My cab was custom built by Low Down Sound in Detroit. Look 'em up... really greay guys down there!
