Okay, so I'm pretty seriously considering building my own P-bass, and I just love the "old" tone that it seems you can only get from vintage instruments. Unfortunatley, being an apprentice, I'm on a pretty tight budget, so real vinatge pots and pickups might be out of the question, unless I cen get a good deal on ebay.

So I'm left wondering how much difference is there between "real vintage" and "reissue vintage"? Other than price-wise I mean.

~edit~ Also, what difference does the hardware make? I mean, a new bridge should sound the same as an old one, right?

The new fender bridges are alot better than the old vintage ones (which is why replacements like the Badass came onto the market)

You could get a bass then put some Lindy Fralins in them:

There meant to sound vintage. You could ask JP about them, i think he used to have some in one of his basses.
