Bass Finish

Hey everybody, quick question - I plan to sand the current finish off my bass and go with a maple wood look, what would be best for the top coat? Poly? Stain? In other words what would be the best protectant (sp) ??:wave: Any ideas are appreciated.

I would just go with poly, but there are plenty of other options such as oil or nitro and plenty others.

+1 for poly its the thickest of all the paints and they do use it for cars as well. The problem is that poly is highly toxic so you would need a mask and a sufficient spray room.
