Big threads tend to get their own little communities and become a community thread of all the users that like the band/music and make this forum a sad forum.

Besides, I am not mistaken this would be more suited for the Punk/Hardcore forum, as metalcore is generally something this forum is not interested in.

Good list, I don't like Metalcore, but Unearth and All That Remains are among the best. I saw All That Remains live, and they have great musicianship. But they just write too many generic/bland riffs to keep my interest, which is the case with most metalcore.

They're beyond normal metalcore bands because they fuse tons of genres of music and do lots of crazy sweeping in their guitar solos. They can also get pretty technical is some songs. They're on the road to becoming a great band.

i'd love to hear it, i just heard they blend classical music into metalcore...that sounds very interesting. im not too much into huge technicality though, i prefer the more melodic stuff, based on that, how does the human abstract sound? :)

They've definitely got plenty of melodic moments in their choruses and they way they harmonize riffs. Basically, they have something for damn near any fan of metal. I'd suggest that if you're into metalcore then you check it out.

They're really terrible song writers. Their singer is atrocious and they try to put themselves above the pack by claiming to have some epic Classical influence. Basically they write generic music with bad vocal melodies and then try to save the songs by throwing in random pointless shred.

I just hate most bad second wave Metalcore because most of it is just shitty death metal with shitty breakdowns.

The only Metalcore bands I enjoy on the regular are ones that are hard to pigeonhole in the genre, like Between the Buried and Me and Protest the Hero, the latter I don't even consider to be Metalcore at all.

And even that I can't listen for a long period of time.

I hate metalcore, mainly because of the bland and shallow sounding (yes this is my opinion:p) riffs and the vocals.
I can't stand the hysteric screaming vocals.
Black metal shrieks or death metal shrieks have my preference.

It sucks that I can't stand the vocals, cause it prevents me from getting further into some sludge bands (Isis, Cult Of Luna) of which I like the music, but hate the vocals.

Nintendo-core is not a genre. Giving something a unique title just because they use silly samples and 8-bit synths but have no actual individuality on the hardcore side doesn't merit a genre.

I am listening to Converge right now. No Heroes is pretty bomb as far as 'let's just be loud and agressive and blast blood out of everyone's ears' goes.

I don't like how they try to incorporate a little bit of math into their songs but it ends up just sounding like they chopped a beat off of an otherwise natural-sounding measure.

Moshcore-Downtune as far as you can and bang your head while attempting to play guitar, which is hard when you are jumping around so much

Deathcore-Ultra low guitars combined with the death growl and a metalcore musical sensibility

Funkcore-We like it funky, but we also like it fast

Rapcore-Political monologue, unsung... literally

Thrashcore-Play it fast, maybe rap it a little, be sure to include some simplified thrash riffs, and make sure that you start off as merely hardcore

Sludgecore-Dirty and... dirty. Play it slow and sludgylike

Crustcore-Take crust, the second most brutal genre ever (next to grindcore) and speed it up to the point of insanity

Grindcore-Play it faster, louder, and more brutal than anyone else, or die trying (prolly cause you banged your head too fast and accidentally brained yourself on your guitar)
