Ok, so we're 3 guys playing music in my ''garage''. This is like my mini studio, where I got my computer, my 8 track, a condenser mic, my drum, couple of amps. The problem is that I got just one mic to record 3 people playing.

I can put the mic almost everywhere and we will still hear the drum a lot more than the guits. What could I do to solve this recording problem. I know I could buy more mics, but we will still hear the drums a lot because of the condenser mic. I don't know if you understand well.

You could use the condensor mic for the drums, hang it overhead or something. Then buy an SM-57 for the guitar, SM-58 for the vocals and run the bass direct in. That setup might minimize the sound bleed between instruments.

use a multiband compressor to bring out the mids... drums don't have a lot of those
