Yes, after going a little while without watching any movies with these two, yesterday I watched Mallrats and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
Great movies, along with Dogma and such.(/hasn't seen Clerks or Clerks 2)
Discuss the greatness that is Jay and Silent Bob.

I dont know how J and SB are portrayed in the other View Askewniverse films, but in Clerks they are a real odd couple. Silent Bob is useless, he was really just Director Kevin Smith's chance to get on screen, but Jay, while seemingly inane makes a funny and interesting character to see.
At the end of Clerks, Jay gives a Speech to Dante, the depressed store clerk, and while seemingly lacking eloquence, the advice he gives him is the best, most insightful thing in the film.
Clerks is an incredible film, everyone should see it

This.
I watched Clerks again last night and I've decided the speech from Jay and the mini-tantrum/sweet throwing from Randall are the best bits in the film.

kevin smith was originally supposed to play the role of dante and had a different guy cast as silent bob, but he couldnt direct and play the role at the same time so he played silent bob instead, so silent bob isnt just there for him to be on screen he was written into it anyway and based on Smiths dad :)
Clerks and Clerks 2 are the best films featuring Jay and Silent Bob Mallrats and Dogma are also great, I cant really remember Jay and Silent Bob strike back but i think i lolled at it and if they were in chasing amy that film sucked

I actually think they were funniest in Clerks 2, though Clerks is the better movie. Never seen Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I'll see it eventually, I gotta see Dogma again first though. Its been too long since I've seen that.

I agree, I haven't seen all of the movies they are in, but Clerks II was their best performance so far.

in an interview kevin smith that slinet bobs there to make jay look less insane - originally the dude (jason mews?) was meant to be there on his bill but he realised quite how stupid it looked

On the car ride to the viewing, Randall tells Dante a story about how someone he knew was found dead trying to suck himself, and Dante tells him that he could never reach. It's a funny scene...

Chasing Amy is probably my favourite movie starring Jay and Silent Bob. Hooper X is hilarious I think. Clerks is good and really funny, but it gets a little boring after a few watches.

Not the best Kevin Smith characters, imo. They're still hilarious when used in moderation.

i was walking home today and i remembered the hitching scene in JandSB: SB, when george carlin tells the rules of the road.
i was hoping i could go down on a nun today, but the situation didn't arise. :upset:
