Well, it is the final poll of round 1, and silly me miscounted. We nearly had a top 99 Metal Bands competition. Luckily, I pulled up The Lord Weird Slough Feg randomly from the list of "losers", so I guess you can all have the joy of maybe voting for them. In any case, here you go:

This is difficult - I'm a fan of all the above bands except Darkthrone. I especially like the Lord Weird Slough Feg and Candlemass.

But this has to go to Ulver. They have an AMAZING catalogue. They make great harsh black metal, great folk and great ambient/atmospheric/trip-hop/whateveritis. Unbelievable band.

And what could be more kult than recording Nattens Madrigal in a forest on a tape recorder? :D

Urgh, I'm torn between Ulver, Emperor and Candlemass.

I'd normally vote Ulver without a second thought, but as this is a metal poll I'll judge them purely on their Black Metal releases.

I have it, but it's been sitting around untouched while I've been binging on other bands (or just different Ulver albums). I'll check it out once this Mars Volta song is over.
