I'm looking to get a new effects pedal(s), and this is the one that I'm the most interested in. However, I haven't really looked into THAT many... maybe this one and a Line-6.

The question is, how do you guys rate this pedal? My current one is a Digitech BP200, and while it served me well, it was a piece of crap.

I also haven't decided if I want to go with a multi-effects pedal, or single pedals. I like the idea of a big multi-effects pedal, because it lets me experiment with tones, effects, amps, etc that I otherwise never would know about. However, I really could use the ability to run numerous effects all at the same time, which I don't think this (or any) multi-effects pedal does very well (for all those Tool songs! :thumb: ). For example, I would like to be able to use a tremelo with maybe a harmonizing/whammy effect (a la Right in Two, for you fellow Tool fans). So that's kind of a negative for multi-effects pedals.

Overall I guess I'm just looking for your inputs. Thanks.

edit: oh and I would gladly accept any and all recommendations for brands/pedals for multi-effects or single effects!

Is it not common for multi-effects pedals to have built in whammys?

Everybody rave over the Line 6 Live pedal, i dont think i have heard a single bad word about it, so unless someone REALY convince me otherwise im going for that or the "regular" POD XT..

nothing wrong with boss :thumb:

ME-50B is a good option for experimenting with sounds at a fairly reasonable price

Meh, Have owned one, werent to happy with it (Mostly i didnt get a distortion tone that i liked)

GT6B is supposed to be rather nice, but the POD XT Live is supposed to be close to the best thing out there now.

GT6B is amazing and they hold their value pretty well it seems. I haven't tried the line 6.

GT6B is quite good, I prefer the me50b just for ease of use.

I would just wait til you find one at a good price and just grab that. You can't go wrong with either to be honest.

I think im gonna go for the Line 6 one, simply becouse of the editing posibilitys it have.. plug in to your computer and set up a amp setting from there. And as i have said, i have heard nothing but good about it.

And it looks a little bit cooler.

You know me, comments like that shouldnt be neccisary anymore.

i did how ever play a Boss GT6B a while back, and wasnt that impressed, and judging by the 50B i owned, im not getting boss.

Im on a huge researching now, im not gonna ask a store to take one in, becouse im not gonna buy from them anyway. ill order one while i order my Strings, wich aint sold here in norway (I know you dislike everything i like Jorge, so leave my optima's alone! )

I've found with the GT6B I can get a good distortion tone (but I only tend to use it higher up on my G, C and F strings for the most part, to fill in behind the guitar in my band). But I can't get a good clean sound on the same patch, and changing patches is not great because of volume inconsistencies (and the button is harder to get to than the Distortion ON/OFF :p).

The whammy is nice though ^_^ Even if it is a little limited.
