A week or so before Christmas I got a mapex saturn. Now i just found out today that i was shipped another one and it is sitting at my house. My dad is going to call the credit card company to see if he got charged twice for it and if not, we were debating on whether or not to put this kit up on ebay and not return it to where we got it from. Now, am i obligated to calling up the place of purchase and telling them their mistake or can i just carry on and sell this thing.
I'd call the place where you purchased it. Imagine someone has ordered a Saturn kit and he/she'll never get it. That'd suck.

I doubt it was meant for someone else, especially since it's the same setup and color of the one I got.

Hmmmm if you didnt get charged for it, take it imo.
Take the chances while you have them man!
Get yourself some nice cymbals.
Hmm ok, if you really got it twice, you've got a killer setup :p One for at home and one for on the road :p

I'd probably just buy another bass drum with the money and some pedals, because I already have top of the line cymbals right now and dont really need any more.

Keep it for a few months before selling it. More than likely they will notice they have a kit missing and may check sales orders against shipping bills etc. Dont forget if it was signed for they can prove you have had 2 of them.
If it was meant for someone else and got sent to the wrong address they will complain and be sent another kit then the company who sent it to you will investigate the missing shipment etc.
I'm not saying you should call them and send it back, just dont rush into selling it, I'd say for at least 3 months.

Yeah, i was thinking of holding onto it for a while to see what happens and then after a few months if nothing comes up, ill sell it.

you should definitely hold on to it for a while before selling it. i say three months is a good amount of time. you want to play it safe.

Just know that if you keep it then you will likely have to pay for it further down the road. Stores have safeguards to keep check on stuff like this, especially on such an expensive item.

If you didn't get charged for it, and you keep it. You have committed a theft crime. It's very simple.

What Jos said.
And I'm just a believer to doing something good every time you get to. So I would return it.

Keeping the kit is a crime, plain and simple. Call them and tell them you have the kit and that they can come pick it up with a return shipping order. You might get lucky if they never pick it up.

They are going to notice obviously. It helps to have people know you are honest and trustworthy. Heck sometimes people with give you something free for a good deed.

It isn't too far fetched to think they accidentally delivered you a second drumset. Simple error on their part. Keep that sucker and sell it, nobody will ever know. And even if they did, it's their mistake, and this is how they pay for it.
