It really is a fantastic game, Im glad they got away from the "Mission planning" and all that of old, now its just a really slick tactical shooter :cool:
I think I might like this one even more than Gears of War!

Vegas is totally different to the others

Now its much less focused on Planning and to an extent, on what equipment you take.

Vegas is more about using the environment to your advatage, a gears of War style cover system is now in place to help you with this. Though the game is a lot slower and more of a thinking man's FPS. And now, your teammates are no longer "extra lives" for when you die. You can direct them around and give them orders and stuff, but if they die you have a short time to revive them. If you die, its game over!

I have Vegas for the PC and I like Gear's system MUCH better. Like not even in the same league.

Tagging targets through the snake cam is cool though.

Gears System is a lot smoother and allows you to move between cover objects and islands, but the RB6 system is solid I reckon

its easily the best rainbow 6 in the series. its the first time ive ever run ot of ammo on rainbow 6 too, but finally being able to pick up terrorist weapons and customes your own weapons!

it is fantastic, the stacking up system is veeeery slick

Exactly. I've been playing R6 since the beginning, and loved the tactical/strategical planning. There is much more long term gratification imo when a well thought out mission plan is executed perfectly. The game has always had a less tactical side to it, they call it multiplayer...

tbh, I havent even heard of the new one, maybe I will check it out.

They need to do some serious work on GoWs online for GoW2. THey need to give it a class system, like Call of Duty III has, so everyone has different stats, and different abilities and weapons. It's ridiculous when General RAAM has the same hit points as a drone, and when his melee attacks are only as powerful as a regular humans.

They need to make the guns more effective at killing, make them more accurate, so people arent compelled to unload entire magazines point blank simply because the Lancer is inaccurate. They need to fix this so that people dont feel compelled to use Chainsaw ambushes simply because its a hell of a lot easier than trying your luck shooting at the enemy.


R6 online is great, because its so hard to be cheap at it, the guys playing it properly will win, because you have so little health, and the weapons are so realistic that trying to an Action hero doesnt work at all.

And tbh, the guns are inaccruate, even Burst firing, if you just watch the tracer fire you can see that the Lancer in particular has a wild Spread, only the Long SHot and The Torque bow are accurate at over 50 metres. Unless you are playing against complete potatoes, they will just take cover once the bullets start raining in, making it even harder to hit a tiny target with already innacurate bullets.

And being able to play as a Boomer would be much the same as using the Anti Tank class in Call of Duty III, you get high hit points, but really low mobility, huge single shot firepower, but slow moving, innacurate projectiles and huge reload times. It's an incredibly unbalanced creation, and while it would be useful in some situations, I doubt there would be a mass of people all using the Boomer because unless its in the perfect situation it can be dominated by lighter, more accurate and faster firing classes (IE the COGs in campaign of GoW), so a Class system isnt so far fetched, and the Boomer wouldnt be the be all and end all of said system.

This game is (thankfully) not like CoD 3. And this game is about taking cover, if you could easily kill them when they're in cover it would be completely pointless.

The AK47 is terrible, it just isnt accurate enough, most of the available rifles are better than the AK.

And the Desert Eagle is better than the Bull, yeah the bull has slightly more power (not really noticable as both are 1 hit kills 95% of the time) but the Eagle is faster firing, more accurate and has a larger clip. Eagle all the way!

AK=win when used on single shot. All the "actual" elites I have seen using it (i.e. those who havn't boosted to get rank, they got it the hard way) kicked arse with it. Seems to be good for sniping in streets. But only on single shot.

I dunno man, its no more powerful than any other Assault rifle, and all of the guns hit dead on first shot, however, other guns, in burst or single (only noobs use full auto) can maintain accuracy under sustained fire, the AK isnt that good for it.

However, I suppose there is a respect in using the AK, in that its locked at first,and isnt the Spas12.

I prefer to use the Xm26-LSS Automatic shotgun in Single shot mode, because its high powered, accurate up to medium range and can be fired without anyneed for pumping inbetween shots, so in single shot mode you can unload the whole magazine as fast as you can pull the trigger. Not advised though, controlled fire ftw.

My backup is usually a Mtar21 or a Scar-H QCG, for sniping people who are out of my shotguns range.


I'll never become elite though. I just power leveled on high density, realistic difficulty terrorist hunts on the LVU campus until I was a Major or something, and unlocked a bunch of cool new armour sets so I could look sufficiently different to everyone else, then stopped leveling up and started playing more team survivial games.

I'm doing it the hard way, Team survival only, and I am a Staff Sergeant. Weapon of choice being the UMP45. The 2 round burst is awesome for sniping with. Usually walk around with full auto on, but fire in controlled bursts for the headshot that is so essential with an SMG.

Erm...theres something like 25 guns, and then you have Laser sights, scopes, high capacity mags etc to choose from, then your special items, Id say the load out gives you plenty of scope

Compare 25 guns to GoW, that game had like 8. Granted they were only the bare essentials, shotgun, sniper rifle, Assault rifle etc, but I reckon R6 gives you plenty of guns

I remember thinking that I was going to to own it up once I unlocked the AK47... gun ****ing sucks which makes perfect sense. I was just used to the godly AK47 in Counter Strike though.

I use a Scar-H QCG/Desert Eagle combo for some maps and a Ump45/92FS for others. Sometimes I'll use a shield if I want a laugh or a shotgun, but not very often.

I just solo'd a realistic mode terrorist hunt with 25 terrorists without a shield which was pretty damn cool because usually I get rocked after 7-8 guys without a shield on terrorist hunts.

The shield is bad ***, unless you're playing with people who think nade before gun (I hate these people...) I'll use it a lot on library, there is this long stretch of hall where you can shoot it out with people and if you're using the 92fs it's not impossible to get a kill without danger of dying.
