I have to make 30 second clips of songs quite often in my line of work, and although it's not difficult to do so in adobe audition, I'm looking for a faster way of handling it.

Ideally, I'd love to have some sort of plugin that can be used in audition that will make it so there's a generated 30 second window that I can place anywhere on the wav file, and then once I find the spot I want to save, it will generate a fade in and fade out on the clip and save it to mp3.

does anyone know of a good way to have this happen?

GLoop for one: http://www.gvst.co.uk/beta.htm

relofter for two: http://andreas.smartelectronix.com/index.php?nav=9&p=5&kat=0

Repeatler for three:

These allow you to play in real time and act as samplers. The following plugins record audio streams to a user-selected wave file.

Silverspike TapeIt

Voxengo Recorder

Again, you'll need to open the files up and fade yourself (alternatively, you could fade using the mixer during playback to get the same effect).
