Just if you don't know.Back whenEA developed "Battlefield 1942"a small group of programers came up with a mod called "Desert Combat".It was such a huge sucess that it caught the eye of EA games so they hired the group and gave them all the resources to develope an official AE version. When the official release of "Battlefield 2"came out EA the programmers were given thier walking papers. How screwed up was that.Well whats your stand on EA games.I have the "Battlefield 1942" and "Battlefield 2" games as well as the "Desert Combat 3.0"mod.I think they are great games but am not going to buy the new "Battlefield 2142"or the mods for "Battlefield 2" because I didn't know the full story till I bought "Battlefield 2".

I'm a programmer and I see nothing wrong with it. They were lucky to go from a mod to EA's team anyway and they obviously didn't make the cut or EA would of kept some/all of them. I just see it as another job opportunity for me.

EA are pretty much the most annoying developers on the game scene. Their stance on microtransactions, how they get away with rehashing sports games every year with little improvement, and how most of their online games only work on the servers for a year which forces you to buy the next installment. These are all my reasons to hate this company.

That said, they have some great games. The Burnout series, Command And Conquer, Medal Of Honor, The Sims, Black And White.

tbqh i didnt like medal of honor, its too easy and unrealistic. you could take on 50 guys easily. call of duty and battlefield 1942 games were great though.

I can't even begin to express my opinion of EA, there aren't enough insulting words in the dictionary.

I like the Battlefield and Medal of Honor series but the constant sports game remakes and "booster packs" is just retarded. We all know Madden 08 will add some fancy shadow effects and a new button. Eventually they'll run out of useless crap and have to start implementing completely useless crap. Maybe you can give the waterboy a route to run on the sideline after every play.

I also like Madden, but it seems they keep giving us the same game every year. I'd rather play '07 than pay 60 bucks for '08 and get a new button.

EA ruined Westwood. Hated them ever since.

UO was ruined after they introduced Trammel. I don't know if EA had joined Origin before that expansion but either way, nothing they released when they were together brought it back to the roots of the game that made it fun (PKing, Stealing, Constantly looking around to see if your mule chopping trees is about to get pked, Scamming, Crafting, etc). I still played it for about 6 years (pay per month) but it was only truly fun from the time it came out until trammel was added.

Oooooooooh man, I miss UO. I toughed out the Trammel days up until they introduced the gate system, which completely drove the game to the ground.

lol I think I stuck around even as far as the samurai expansion. Bear in mind that I probably sold 5 or 6 accounts because I would quit for certain periods due to EA sucking.

I used to play on Chesapeake and Siege Perilous as Tom Green. Some of my friends were Mondaine, Gwarrior, Belial, Megadeath, Twist.. I can even remember some of the guilds from Chesapeake that have moved on to other games like Warcrack (Oinland for one)

and lol I thought I would be the only person on here who has even heard of UO.

Holy smokes, I played Chesapeake as well. My main char was Speed Demon, and I forgot my mage's name. I did a lot of PK'ing with my mage, but kept Demon for money-making and stuff.

I vaguely remember a Tom Green actually, and I think I'd met Megadeath maybe once or twice. My most active days I hung out and had a house in the Chaos Shrine and killed and befriended a ton of PK'ers. I knew Razor, Demon Slayer, Jack the Mighty, and scuffled with Quasymoto a lot.
