Hi
I need some help understanding the basic 26 rudiments.
Is there anywhere on the internet where i can hear them?

Also, I need some help on the notes, some notes are very small compared to the usual sizes. What does that mean? I am currently reading Rudiment Grooves for Drum Set. And on the basic rudiments they use these small notes every now and then.

What is a "Flam"? And what about a ghost note?

Rest assured that more n00bish questions are sure to arise on a later stage ^^
For now, I would appreciate any help on these questions :)

Well, first off, there are 40 standard rudiments, not 26. There were originally 26, then 14 more were added to make 40. I'd suggest you learn all of them.

The notes that are smaller are grace notes. A flam makes use of a grace note, as do drags and ruffs. A grace note is a note or notes that come before the main note it is attached to. For example, a right-handed flam consists of a low left handed grace note immediately followed by a full right hand stroke.

Ghost notes are very soft notes that usually come between regular strokes, most often on snare drum. You usually hear them as part of drumset grooves to fill the texture out a bit. Rosanna by Toto is a famous drum groove with lots of ghosting. You have to really listen for it sometimes!

Try http://www.vicfirth.com/education/rudiments.html to get started. You'll find tons more resources there too to help you out. Have fun!
