well, tight pop screams metal, no?

i would suggest looking into the Tama metal snares, like the Metalworks steel snare is in and under your price range i believe

Try looking for Ludwig Acrolites on eBay. You can find some cheap ones for under $100, and they are incredible drums.

They are metal.

also check out the ludwig supra phonic, its what i have, and it is an amzing drum, may be a bit pricy for you, but i got a good deal, $250 new at my music store, so you might be able to get a good deal too.

acrylic snares would suit your style well.
