Brilliant is slightly brighter(sound wise), its hard to notice. Trad is rad! Darker, and gets darker with wear/age. I hate shiny cymbals, and most brillliants. I looooooooove dirty old beat-up cymbals(sound/look). I might even rub out the Brillliant finish(possible?) if I got one.

IMO I find brilliant cymbals a bit brighter (too brighter for my taste) than trad.

I play in 3 bands, one of them is a rock band, the second is metalcore, and the third one is noisecore.

Well I dont know much about what sort of sounds those genres would require, but like they all said brilliant is brighter, more cutting; trad is darker, trashier.

Im a brilliant man, myself.

"There is a very small difference in the sound of a Brilliant cymbal compared to
the same cymbal in regular finish. The difference is that the Brilliant cymbal has been ‘aged’ by the buffing process. The difference will not last too long, though.

I hope that helps!"

What do you mean the difference by when the difference won't last long? Meaning the trad will age better than the brilliant?

brilliant, gives a much lighter look, however you might want to keep that bottle around, your cymbols will get dirty pretty fast
