Steve Smythe got a kidney! Yes! My guitar teacher, who teaches in the same building that Steve did for many years, informed me today that one of Steve's best friends from High School gave him a kidney, and the surgery went well.
He's on antibiotic stuff right now, trying to make sure his body doesn't reject it.
Hopefully he'll be back with Nevermore soon, he's a great guy.

I hope they don't keep Broderick and give him the shaft.

I dont think they will. Who knows, they may go Maiden style utilize three guitarists.

Well, roughly 100% of Nevermore songs can't be performed in their entirety with 2 guitars, so it wouldn't be the WORST idea ever. I would assume that Smythe will return to Nevermore, particularly since he made so many excellent writing contributions to the last album and he's a bad mother****er.

I too hope they don't keep Broderick, so he can go back to the superior Jag Panzer. :p

But really, I'm happy for Steve.

I actually honestly don't believe they could have three guitar players, for one simple and lame reason. Money. I remember Steve would come home from a tour and be really broke, and some of the guys in Nevermore have to be chefs, and teach to keep above water. Even being in a successful band like them doesn't give you anything money wise nowadays. They couldn't support 6 members. Would give them interesting options though...

Yeah, sadly that's the hard truth. How bands like Therion or Haggard stay afloat is absolutely beyond me.
