Behringer ddx3126 help!

Hi, while looking for alternative to the mackie onyx 1260 with firewire in it, someone suggested that the ddx3126 can do exactly the same thing/or very similar.

The mackie will send out 16 different tracks, and the pc would recognise it as 16 seperate soundcards almost.

Apparently the ddx can do the same? anyone have any experience with this or can tell me where to go?

The DDX doesn't seem to have the same capability to act as a recording interface based upon first glance at the product page at the Behringer website. I didn't even see an option card to provide this ability.

If you're just looking for a mixer, unless you need automation (which the Onyx doesn't have) or software routing (which the Onyx also doesn't have) then there's no real need to go digital.

thats exactly what i thought, im sure the person who gave me this advice was mis informed somewhere along the line, thanks for the help!
