Wouldn't buy it, but I sort of like it. Nothing to spend 50.000 $ on :P I can get better **** from friends for the price of the materials.

By the way, Zero, Francis Bacon, yay or nay?

Random thought of the day (brought up by the fact that I saw an exhibit of his last week together with the Francis Bacon one...)

Looks like every piece of modern art seems to criticize the west/modern life.

Because neocons have no talent.

Ask zero to hear his music, you'll see.

This isn't really "modern art." The whole thing behind that movement was to take away the power of what art is from the painter, and put it into the eyes of the viewer. This isn't to say it didn't get out of hand with crap.

This reminds me of Banksy's work, although his is much better.

He's more clever and less heavy handed with his social commentary, but I think the other one is a bit more technically skilled.

If by "technical" you mean lifelike, Banksy is pretty good too.

And, if we're talking lifelike, there are some amazing sculptors today.

Most Renaissance artists were paedos by that logic.

Erm, dude, look at the damn painting, watch the pose that the boy is in. That is not a normal Renaissance pose.

FYI, they do speculate that he was gay and it is probable that he had a taste for erm, boys that age.

First is better than the second. Second is pretty good, too, but looks more artificial than the first.

Why not? I've seen plenty of naked youths in provacative poses in Renaissance art. It was a pretty common subject.

They look about the same to me it's just at the scale the second artist can do these things and retain such realism is impressive in itself.
