So i have a start copy guitar, i sanded it all down, and now i want to paint it. But first i have a couple of questions to ask.

1. How many coats of primer do i use?

2.What grit sandpaper do i sand the paint with?

3. Should i use an airgun, or brush?

4.What finishing product do i use to get a glossy finish?

#`1 for primer i'd just use enuff so that the guitar it all white maybe 1 or 2 even coats
#2id start w/ a very fine gritt (assumeing this is after you paint it ) then get a buffing cloth ,pad or whatever n ues that untill its nice n smoove
#3 idk for sure but if it were me i'd use an air gun
#4 to get a really shiny finish like on todays giutars they use polyurithane(sp?) they used to used nitro cellulose(sp?) but that wore off too easily so ya today the major companies use poly finishes on thier giutars

U can get it at places like home depot, lowes, or even wal mart or kmart type places.

If you want ur finish virtually indestructable. Poly is ur best bet. If you want to have it turn out like a relic fender, nitro is what you want.

seen on project guitar about doing a smaller template of the shape and setting that like 2cm away from the body and spraying that the colour and thats your colour for the sunburst. (really vague description but thats the idea)
