We went to Guitar Center so I could pick up a couple of parts I needed for a project I was working on. Well, I couldn't help try out a few things they had over there, no intentions of buying anything except those parts I went there for.

Well, I tried out a guitar that caught my eye, just for the heck of it. It was love at first play.

Now, remember, my wife already bought me the BC Rich Bich for Christmas. She says to me, " You have a Strat, The Bich, and the hollow body electric. This one will complete the lineup. If you want it, go ahead and get it. It's a very pretty guitar and sounds good."

Well, I bought it on the spot, and she was right, it does complete the lineup.

Here she is, a beautigul 1992 Gibson Les Paul Custom in honeyburst.

Les Paul's used to seem overrated to me, until I played and heard one live. Wow... just wow.

*Insert obligatory post about EMG 81 and 85 pickups.*

I do believe they're over priced, compared to somethign as beautiful looking and sounding as a PRS. But some Les Pauls have brilliant tone, just ugly as hell

Heck, PRS guitars are just as overpriced. They're CNC machine made, and their tops, while nice, aren't worth the prices they get. Ive seen figured woods on Carvins that were just as nice, and nicer, than PRS guitars, for half the price you'd pay for a PRS.
