This problem is extremly annoying and it makes it awkward when tapping, playing harmonics and playing with only one hand. This problem only affects two of my basses.
The two basses are:
A customised Stagg P-Bass which i have put new Seymour Duncan Bassline pickups in. (Passive Electronics)
A Yamaha RBX John Myung Signiture 6 string. (Active Electronics) This bass didn't make this sound when i first bought it in august 2006.
Heres the problem:
When im not touching my bass at all theres a slight buzzing sound and if i touch a string theres a little electric click sound and then the buzzing sound has gone. So i have to always touch my basses to prevent any buzzing or clicking. If you need a recording of this sound il make one for you.
Ive asked my bass teacher about this and he said something about shielding the pickups. which ive tried with one of my basses and has not worked.
One interesting thing is the sound disapears if i stand about 30cm's away from my amp.
Could it be possible that im getting interferance from something? Coz my room isnt that big and i have a lot of other electrical equipment in my room.
Would appreciate any advice pleeeeeease?
