Our house fell down today.
One brick loose made of crumbling clay.
Dreamers after dreamers or lovers after liars
This same old shed is built, On sand and dirty silt.
You think you saw the cannon ball fly, how could it when no match was lit?
That brightness in the bulb you fixed was just the reflection from all the others.
Call it hallucination, call it what you like,
There were never any flowers in this garden.
The weeds were choking me, had to spray them all away,
And the 'Baby's Breath' we thought we kept safe had already moved astray.
But please make this silence leave me here,
Lost and alone the wind is near.
Been waiting for this day to come to be
Swept off my feet and fall face flat.
The blood it rushes through my veins like a sprint I feel it pant and chase.
But the finish line it comes too soon and it stops to fill all of these wounds.
None left to fill my heart I fear,
Lying lame and speechless,
I reflect on my life which used to be so straight and clear.
If love's supposed to make your heart race, you're as good as dead.
If it's meant to make time move slower, then seconds are really hours.
And those of us who smile all day, does it matter if it's the wrong way round?
The lips you've twisted into shape, where love is never found.
But what if I was to die tomorrow, I'd see you right here.
Now thats a care of love I see, which is better than any love my dear.
