I have a coated amb on my reso and a ps3 on batter with a falam patch and a dw hardcore beater.
Batter is medium tight and my reso is a bit passed wrinkly but still evenly tight.
Makes a lovely punch and slap!

Personally, I'm a fan of the simply coated one ply over thin clear (eg..coated amb/clear dip) combo. On my kick i currently have a Force1 Batter (aquarian..clear, unfortunately) over a black gloss reso (aquarian, has a small muffling ring). I use no internal muffling, and get a great sound.
Please, please, please do not use a hydro on anything. I assume you're going for a low, punchy sound? I think that that combo, especially with that tuning, would sound somewhat like a fart. I find that the above mentioned general head combo (1ply/1ply) can get you anywhere, and is an especially good starting place for not-so experienced players (Me inclusive:D).
Hope i can be of some help:)

Hydro on reso? holy crap that would sound dead
Look at aquarian regulator. It puts everything else to shame

True...so true...it makes show get cancelled because of the loudness (I experienced that yesterday :()

if you like no internal muffling...
-Aquarian SuperKick1 batter
-Aquarian Regulator (buy the preported if you want a port) resonant side
-probably the thin Evans patch
-some nice, HARD felt beaters.

Man you would need a stephescope to hear the kick with that combination.

it is a two ply head with oil between the plies- a.k.a a very dead head with no overtones- not exactly ideal for a resonant head, or a batter head for that matter

Hydro's are good for one thing and that's recording.
I can get a very low punchy sound out of my bassdrum with an EMAD over my stock tama head, which is a single ply with a control ring on the inside, nothing in the shell, evans AF patches, and wood beaters.

Only if you like the dead clicky kinda sound sound.

Pitchfork, resonance does not = volume

I'm talkin about the threadstarter.
And resonance does equal volume, if the drum didn't resonate you wouldn't get a sound. Hence why when you aren't hitting the drum it doesn't make a sound.

Resonance: Reinforcement and intensification of sound by vibrations.
So you can make a sound without resonance. Resonance just aids in the volume, but it's still possible with the right circumstances to make a large sound without any resonance.

^ True, put your hand on one of your drums and hit it, it has little to none resonance but you can still hear it.

resonance is vibration...
everything we hear is a vibration.

thats true plasma, but if you took your hand off the drum would be louder- resonance adds to volume.
if you play two bass drums with the same force, one with little to no resonance and one that resonates a lot, the one that resonates will be louder.

i just want something hellsa low sounding, but not like a fart haha, i was just hypothesising with the hydro idea, what kind of head should head should i use on my reso for maximum bass sound and depth? i currently just have the stock reso, which is over 10 years old haha, and an emad 1-ply on batter side i just want maximum depth and minimum clicky bullshit.
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad topickick.

Clear PS3/Coated PS4 will give you the sounds you are looking for.
