Tour Custom hands down. It has solid maple shells and you can get all kinds of component drums to get all the sizes you want.

The Stage Custom on the other hand is made of an outer ply of birch and the other 7 plies are phillipine mahogany and falkata.

all of the wood minus the outer birch ply is not known as a great sounding wood (atleast not in comparison to maple).

The tour custom goes for $1600 I believe and the stage custom goes for $1000.

you do realize its yamahas step up from the stage custiom, the tour is, right?

definetly the tour. but you have to think aobut the kind of sound you want. the tour custom has rounded bearing edges. it will give you a not so jazzy sound, if you like jazz.
