I'm looking for some aux percussion, mainly a tambourine and shaker. I'd like the tambourine to be mountable, but easily playable by hand as well. The shaker, well, I don't want a wimpy eggshaker, something with a little more "playability." I've been looking around musiciansfriend, but does anyone on here have any reccomendations?

the LP Shaker. It's a big silver tube. I have it and it's readily available from almost anywhere.

Shakers are easy to make: a can with a replacable lid 2/3 filled with something heavy like ball-bearings.

DSTs are great for both hand and stick.
Hat-Tricks are the way to go for hat-mounted Tambs.

I got a Tambourine AND some egg shakers for Christmas. I like em, but neither of them are what you're looking for. The tambourine can only be played by hand, and I think you're lookin for soem heavy duty egg shakers.

You can also tape a few egg shakers together for a beefier sound. Duct-tape around two keeps them together easily.

I don't know about a tamborine, but I swear by LP one shot shakers. Both my drum teacher and I believe that this instrument alone could create world peace, they are that amazing.
