Hi Guys,

Im spending some more serious time on recording some songs and instrumentals and I'm looking for a good archive of drum samples (preferrably free, but will buy if I have to).

Can anyone point me in the direction of some drum sample sites where I can check them out. I've searched myself but its hard to know whether they are truely any good until you try them so figured I'd ask in here for some heads up on the whole situation.

I am using Fruity Loops 6 and will export the output from there into separate wav tracks which I will import into Pro Tools LE 7 where I will start recording the rest of the instrumentation.

Thanks in advance.

Or you could torrent it. That's what I use when I make "real" drum tracks.

There's a whole bunch of royalty-free, public domain sound samples on the internet. Any search engine should direct you to a few of them with little effort. Just make sure you include something like "public domain" or "royalty free" in your search to ensure that you aren't being taken to a pay site or a site which has loose ends attached to its files.

You often have to download them one at a time off the royalty free websites, so I would check out bittorrent. I've gotten some legal packs from people that have downloaded all the free ones individually (or FlashGot) and RAR'ed them up.

It's not quantity, it's quality. You're going to need to listem to them one at a time anyway to find the ones you like. Many sites will even allow you to preview them in your browser to find something you like.

I think it really says something when you don't want to take the time to find good samples for your music.
