Hi, some of you might have realised im trying to a get stuido planned out! I've hit a problem with monitors (dont worry, its not really a choice of monitors, more a matching situation!)

So I've decided on this mixer http://www.mackie.com/products/onyx1620/
the mackie onyx 1620! (i chose this over the 1640 because the only difference is the digital i/o right? what do you think to that)

mics all sorted

the monitors are my next concern. i've chosen them, but have I chosen to many?

I chose these two http://www.behringer.com/B2031A/index.cfm?lang=ENG
behringer truth b2031A (they're active)

but someone suggested I invest in a sub woofer monitor also.. for example sake lets use this one http://www.behringer.com/B2092A/index.cfm?lang=ENG
behriner truth b2092a

thats three monitors right?
-----
let me just point out my signal chain so far!

signal (mic) >>>
mackie onyx 1620 (with firewire) >>>
pc >>> back to mixer (to monitor) >>>
to monitors connected to mixer (audio would be eq/effects etc. from software on pc)
-----

heres my problems!!

1:
These particular monitors (three of them) all use XLRS as their leads, becaue they're active right?
where the heck can i plug them in on this mixer?
http://www.mackie.com/home/showimage.html?u=/products/onyx1620/images/1620_top_lg.jpg
theres a picture if it helps.

2:
is there a way maybe, i could make a chain with the monitors?
i.e.
signal (mic) >>>
mackie onyx 1620 (with firewire) >>>
pc >>> back to mixer (to monitor) >>>
to monitor 1 >>>
monitor 1 to monitor number 2 >>>
monitor two to sub woofer

thanks for your help again! please ask if there are any questions and sorry for being longwinded about it :p

Well I'm glad to see you're getting the Onyx. I love it. The monitors won't be a problem. I have the RP series and they have an XLR out as well. You just get a cable with a TRS tip on one and and an XLR on the other. Plug the TRS into the Main Outs on the mixer and the inputs on the monitors. The monitors come with a power supply so the mixer doesn't supply the power. That should answer your question but let me know if it doesn't.

cheers shishin you're proving to be a big help in my studio building phase :p

ok thats one problem sorted, but i plan on using 3 monitors (two normal speakers, and one sub). obviously theres only 2 main outs (right and left). can i get that sub in there somewhere? anywhere at all? like a chain or something, considering they would all be active.

thanks again!

Well, I'm not sure about these particular monitors, but alot of times the subwoofer will plug into the monitors and then all you have to do is plug the monitors into the main outs. I'm not sure what to do if not.
