Your computer isnt fast enough and is lagging the recording, causing it to go faster at some parts and slower at others.

theres a way to correct it to a degree, but i dont know how.

Can't you record the PODxt with USB or Firewire (I don't know PODs)

cause if you did you'd get a lot less latency.

What program are you using to record?

also it's possible you may be playing out of time and not realising it

Okay, here's what may sound like a stupid question, but how are you monitoring the track you're playing along with while you're recording? are you using speakers in the room, or headphones? I know I personally have problems sometimes if there's a latency betwixt my monitoring, and my input...it causes me to speed up or slow down (usually slow down ever so slightly....) Just a theory, tho...

Also Doug may be on to something when he mentions lag...depends on the sound card drivers you're using. Check for up to date ASIO drivers for your card.....

Okay, and there might be a way to fix the problem in post with Goldwave (or another sound editing program of your choice...I've always preferred the free or exceptionally cheap stuff myself) you can open up the recorded track in Goldwave and play with the "Time Warp" feature to ever so slightly speed up or slow down the recorded audio...
