hi everyone
im not sure if you remember me, plus it looks like many new peeps have joined up so i say helllo to all of you.

so im back at making another bass. i had way too much fun making my devastator (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=456797&highlight=devastator)!

what im making now is just a nice precision bass. its actually the opposite to my fender hoppus sig, because this has a jazz neck and precision body. umm lets see what i can tell you:
body: alder
neck: maple, gold frets, black dot inlays, beautiful nitro finish
pickups: EMG active P-J
Bridge: Hipshot (Gold)
Tuners: Schaller (Gold)
Jack: Neutrik locking 1/4" trs
Straplocks

so all the hardware is gold, and the paint on this is going to be black.
so yeah, here are some pics!

I liked the Devastator because it was more unique, but this still looks like a quality build. I hate locking jacks though.

Where did you get the gold frets from? And do you know where you can get black nickel frets?

Nice build, can't wait to see the finished product. What are you going to do about a finish?

well i have no clue where you could get black nickel frets, try stewmac. as for this neck, i found it downtown toronto, its actually what inspired me to make this bass. due to the headstock being fender style, i couldnt really get too creative therefor i made my own precision. as for the finish, like i said; black.

I think the finish looks pretty awesome just natural.

The frets aren't gold, it's just the vintage tint they add to the laquer (or whatever it is) that they put on the neck. Maples necks are completely coated, even the frets.

Dude, please don't paint it. It looks so good natural, maybe a stain of some sort.... Maybe Nirvana Black or a Green, that'd look so awesome

yeah i just remember seeing a bunch of your stuff in a thread and everyone freaking out over it, haha

this is definatly alot more laid back than what i remember you doing, hope it turns out great!

What you should do is natural/black painted stripes.

Otherwise this is ace, did you make the body entirely from scratch?

hate to bring up the devastater in here... (haha you'll never hear the end of it, no matter what you make)

but i showed my friend, he said "i'd tap that... but it'd be even better if it was a thru neck....... with naked chick inlays"

like the idea??? haha,
i think i'm gonna use your idea and steal the heads from his my friend's star wars collection and put them on my amp, haha

but yeah, this looks niiiiiice,
i know i'm speaking for everyone when i say, keep 'em comming, man

I'd bet lol. I would actually buy my neck from carvin. A 5 string through neck and then glue on some mahogany wings in the shape like yours.
